The Calgary Okinawan Club was founded in 1982 and initially consisted of 12 Okinawan immigrants and their young families.  Today, our club has over 60 people including original members and their growing families, as well recent Okinawan immigrants. Our club organizes social events where Okinawans in Calgary can gather and celebrate our heritage. We strive to pass on Okinawan traditions and culture to upcoming generations to promote a greater connection to their roots.
